DUSHANBE, May 26, Asia-Plus – Pamir Media – Known Tajik scientist Mira Bubnova from the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography at the Tajik Academy of Sciences has conducted a weeklong seminar at the campus of the University of Central Asia (UCA) in Khorog on studying architectural relics of Gorno Badakhshan.
The seminar participants included students and lecturers from Khorog State University, UCA employees and local researchers. They have visited the village of Boghev in the Shugnan district to familiarize themselves with one of architectural relives located there. Ms. Bubnova has participated in some 200 archeological expeditions to Gorno Badakhshan and is author of more than 100 scientific works, including “The Archeological Map of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region: Western Pamirs.”
The University of Central Asia is a secular, private, not-for-profit, and self-governing educational institution established in 2000 through an International Treaty by His Highness the Aga Khan and the Presidents of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Tajikistan, ratified by the respective parliaments, and registered with the United Nations.
At UCA’s three campuses, environmental management and rural/regional development will be part of the core curriculum of the Master’s of Science in Economic Development offered by the Graduate School of Development, a focus of research at the School’s Institutes of Natural Resource Management and Rural – Regional Development, and cross-cutting components of several undergraduate specializations.
