It’s a battle of the dancers.
Burnaby’s district student advisory council is presenting their annual fundraising event, Burnaby’s Best Dance Crew.
It will take place on Thursday, April 3 at Michael J. Fox Theatre.
The student advisory council is a group of students that meet once a month to discuss various school-based issues – from government policies to organizing fundraisers.
In the past, events have included: Battle of the Bands, Burnaby Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.
These events are organized solely by leadership students and have always been successful – last year, the student council raised more than $2,200 for Free the Children.
This year, the group has put together an action-packed show of talent featuring a dance group from each Burnaby high school, competing for the title of Burnaby’s Best Dance Crew. The audience determines the winner.
All proceeds are going to the World Partnership Walk, an organization that fights to end global poverty. The student council aims to raise $3,000 for this charity.
Burnaby’s Best Dance Crew is looking for community support and sponsorship. The performance is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7, and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
