Coastweek – – It was a M.A.D. June 17th 2007 night when the Aga Khan Academy’s Senior School celebrated an exciting years’ worth of Music, Art and Drama.

The charity event evening began with an art exhibition showcasing the many talented visual artists from the IGCSE and IB Diploma program as well as work by middle school students.

The Multi Purpose Hall was the site for exciting drama written and directed by students and outstanding performances by the school Band “Black and White” which featured student vocalists.

The evening also presented powerful performances by the WEMA Street Boys Center who work with the Academy on a number of community based projects.

All proceeds of the event went to the Kenyan Red Cross in an effort to help build housing for displaced families in the Likoni area due to heavy rains and flooding.

Next years performances will be even better as the Academy develops its Performing Arts Programme, so watch this space for their next fundraising event.
