Department of Radiology, AKUH is taking pride in hosting the 8th Sheffield International Conference on Diagnostic Imaging on January 13 & 14, 2007. The prestigious Sheffield International Diagnostic Conference is a biennial event that is held in developing countries. Conferences have previously been held in Kenya, Bangladesh, Egypt and other countries. It is organised by a group of UK-based physicians (Sheffield Diagnostic Imaging) and Sheffield University UK, in collaboration with a local partner in the country where the event is to be held.
The conference will be held over two days and will consist of a series of the state-of-the-art review lectures by eminent speakers who are experts in their fields. These include radiologists as well as surgeons and physicians who will be talking about the clinical issues relating to the practices of Diagnostic Imaging. A total of 32 talks will be delivered on various topics which will include general radiology, musculo-skeletal radiology including trauma, cardio-vascular radiology, interventional radiology, neuroradiology, chest radiology as well as ultrasound imaging. Parallel to this, we will be having a scientific poster exhibition, for which interested participants can submit abstracts.
The conference has been approved for 11 Category-1, CPD credits by the Royal College of Radiologists.
