Aga Khan V to Oversee Completion of Landmark Ismaili Center in Houston

Work has resumed on the massive Ismaili Center Houston after the death of the Aga Khan IV, the leader of the world’s millions of Shia Ismaili Muslims known for his civic service in Houston. The Aga Khan V, the new hereditary Imam, is expected to continue the project which is slated for completion in 2025.


Feb 11, 2025, Eric Killelea for Houston Chronicle: The Ismaili Center in Houston is a major project led by the Aga Khan Development Network. Construction is ongoing despite the recent passing of the previous Aga Khan, with the new Aga Khan V expected to continue the project as planned.
