Farzana Rehmat: 2019 Summer Olympics 2 Gold Medals Winner

United Arab Emirates, March 2019: Special Olympics World Summer Games were held in Abu Dhabi, UAE from March 14 to March 21, 2019. More than 7,000 athletes from 170 countries competed in 24 summer sports, along with 2,500 coaches and 20,000 volunteers.

Farzana Rehmat, a 15-year-old athlete from Chipusan Valley, Gojal, District Hunza, won two Gold Medals in the Special Olympics competition.

Farzana won Gold in Shot Put competitions. She scored 4.96 points in an event held on March 17, at the Dubai Police Officer’s Club Stadium. She won another Gold scoring 4.81 in a competition held on March 12, at the same location.

Farzana also competed in 4×100 Relay and Long Jump.

Chipursan Valley, is a remote area located near the Pak-Afghan border in the northern Gilgit-Baltistan region.
