DM Thomas Foundation for Young People to support AKF education programme in Pakistan

DM Thomas Foundation for Young People to support AKF education programme in PakistanLondon, UK – 18 January 2017: DM Thomas Foundation for Young People will support the Aga Khan Foundation in establishing 60 early childhood development resource centres and 42 libraries in northern Pakistan. These will improve the cognitive and social abilities of children at a critical stage of their development, providing a crucial foundation and underpinning success in later life. It is expected that the projects will have a positive impact through improved social, emotional and physical development; enhanced language, literacy and communication skills and, ultimately, greater success when graduating to primary school.

At a special gathering of business and charity leaders, a cheque for £89,000 was presented to representatives of the Aga Khan Foundation UK to support this programme.
