When we began our charitable work in April 2014, we had no funds, students, university or on-ground partners, board members, or charitable status.
Today, we support 43 young women, plus four alumni, who often come from areas of turmoil. These women come from countries including: Argentina, Kyrgyz Republic, Lebanon, Liberia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, Tajikistan and Uganda, attending programs at the bachelor, master’s, professional and PhD levels. Our students attend the Aga Khan University, American University of Beirut, Asian University for Women, Birmingham Univeristy, Nepal Engineering College, Lebanese American University, London School of Economics, the Sorbonne, University of Bern, University of Calgary, University of Geneva, and universities in Liberia. ByDecember 2016, we hope to increase the number of students we support to 60.
Our focus is young women who can become tomorrow’s leaders, but lack the financial means to afford a quality university-level education.
