What Navroz means to me
Zayaan Dadwani, 7 years old, 1st grade
From the heart of winter when spring I can see,
That’s what Navroz really means to me!
When new life is beginning to grow,
And leaves on trees are beginning to show,
I sit there admiring nature’s beauty,
That’s what Navroz really means to me!
When the sun shines bright,
And the days are filled with light,
when daffodils are blooming with glee,
That’s what Navroz really means to me!
When birds take a flight,
and they chirp with delight,
When out of the egg hatches a little baby,
That’s what Navroz really means to me!
When kids start playing on swings and slides,
And the feeling of joy they cannot hide,
When barkaat arrives in the form of rozee,
That’s what Navroz really means to me!
When the sweetness of laughter flies high,
And hope rolls in wishing fear goodbye,
when celebrations like these make me feel happy.
That’s what Navroz really means to me!
