Planning for the Ismaili Centre program began almost exactly two years ago following a performance of a shortened version of Constantinople at the University of Toronto convocation at Trinity College that conferred an honorary degree on the Aga Khan, the force behind the building of the Ismaili Centre, Toronto and the nearby Aga Khan Museum.

And some pieces have history catch up to them. Constantinople, the multimedia chamber piece reimaging the interplay of Islam and Christianity in the medieval city of Constantinople, the Paris of its day (now Istanbul, Turkey), is to be performed by the Gryphon Trio Nov. 26 to 28 at the Ismaili Centre.
