On Saturday, I had the great honour of walking in the footsteps of John Ralston Saul, George Elliott Clarke, The Rt. Hon. Adrienne Clarkson, Shawn Atleo, and His Highness the Aga Khan.
I presented at the LaFontaine-Baldwin Symposium on “The Canada we hope for: a naive view.
As a preview of the speech, I wrote this for my hosts, the Institute for Canadian Citizenship:
“Canada is not perfect. The world is not perfect. But we, as individual citizens from our own disparate communities, we have the power to be better. The Canada we hope for starts in our homes and our hearts. The Canada we hope for is always within our grasp even if we have to fight for it every day. And, if we get it right, anything is possible.”
Coming Soon the Video & Text of the Speech …
