The first building in the UK to be designed by award-winning Japanese practice Maki and Associates has been submitted to Camden planners

The firm has drawn up detailed designs for a new home for the Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) and the Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations, both part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

If the plans are approved, both institutions will move to the proposed new nine storey building at Argent’s King’s Cross Central development from their current home on the Euston Road, also in the borough.
