TORONTO, April 10, 2013 – One of Toronto’s most recognizable apartment complexes has a new owner. Maple Leaf Quay, a three-building, mixed-use apartment complex located at the base of the CN Tower on Queens Quay West, sold for $150.5 million. This is only the second time that the buildings have traded hands since they were constructed in 1988 by Huang and Dansky.
Long before Toronto’s condo boom, Maple Leaf Quay housed downtown dwellers and was part of a previous attempt to redevelop Toronto’s waterfront. The fact that this landmark complex sold for nearly $300,000 per unit after 25 years reflects the quality of the buildings, their location, as well as strong investor interest in apartment assets.
