Aga Khan Academy stage riveting show in NairobiStudents from the Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi Senior School, staged a spectacular musical drama called “Why the Birds Sing to Me” at the Oshwal Centre on Friday. This musical was written by Katherine Liao and Jeffrey Weeks Harrison and directed by Mark Brennan. In the musical, a stubborn girls school headmistress is cornered when three of her students are kidnapped by rebels and villagers gather to plot their escape. In the end, a love story triumphs over the rebel leader’s quest for power. The musical had lots of suspense. The message of the drama was that reconciliation, peace and healing are most important to overcome human tragedy.
