Residents of Nairobi will continue enjoying the ambience at the Nairobi City Park thanks to a rehabilitation programme that will be initiated by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in collaboration with the Government. Through the Aga Khan Development Network, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of State for National Heritage and Culture, The City Council of Nairobi and the Aga Khan Trust For Culture so as to collaborate in the rehabilitation and restoration of the City Park to international standards. Signatories to the MoU include Prince Hussain Aga Khan on behalf of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, Town Clerk Philip Kisia, and Professor Karega Mutahi who is the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister among other representatives from government. The agreement foresees collaboration through environmental improvements, landscape architectural conservation and enhancement and creation of new facilities.
