NEW YORK— The Aga Khan Award for Architecture has announced this year’s finalists, and among the 19 members on the list are two Chinese architects, who respectively designed the Fujian Bridge School project and the Guangzhou “Tulou” (a large, enclosed, circular residential building).
The award ceremony will be held in October at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar. Included among the nine jurors selecting this year’s winner are internationally acclaimed French architect Jean Nouvel and Yu Kongjian, a professor of landscape design at Peking University. Yu is the first Chinese invited to sit on jury.
