March 2010 – Defeating Racism With Diversity, Education and Understanding

The United Nations proclaimed the day in 1966 and called on the international community to strengthen its efforts to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination.

  1. I think its extremely discriminating when people are judged based on their color before anything else. A person should not be judged period; but especially just because of their color. In the world today a lot of problems occur due to judgement and stereotyping. An example of that in today’s society is when you see an Arab, the thoughts of terrorist automatically enter your mind. Black people are often looked down upon due to history and stereotyping. White people are stereotyped also; for some reason they are still blamed for slavery that occurred 300 years ago; just because someones white does not make them pro slavery.
