CA-NEWS (TJ) – 1.8 thousand people were trained in the University of Central Asia School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) in Gorno Badakhshan region of Tajikistan.
Since 2006, 3650 students were admitted, 1.8 thousand of which were already completed certified or short term courses, said Dilovar Butabekov, the Head of SPCE in Khorog city.
Professional Development Courses include accounting, foreign languages for specific purposes, information technology, management in small business, planning and development of the tourism industry, said Butabekov.
In addition, there are courses in vocational and technical development, such as building, joinery, painting and plastering work.
“SPCE offers short-term tertiary education, intensive programs designed for a year or less and specialized training in a specific field,” said Butabekov.
UCA is the first private international institution of higher education was found in 2000 by the governments of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzsta, and Kazakhstan and the spiritual leader of Ismaili world, His Highness the Aga Khan IV. The School of Professional and Continuing Education operates in Khorog city since October 2006.
UCA create three university campuses in Khorog (Tajikistan), Naryn (Kyrgyzstan) and Tekeli (Kazakhstan). The central administrative office located in Bishkek.
