The Programme for Enrichment of School Level Education (PESLE) (1999-2006), was initiated by the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in India, with a clear focus on significant elements of the formal system that are amenable to quality improvement such as teacher training, curriculum support, whole school management and involvement of the community.
Currently in its seventh year, PESLE is operational in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan and is supported by the European Commission (EC) and the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF).
