Sultan Jessa: We belong to Allah and to Allah we shall return

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

“We belong to Allah and to Allah we shall return”

With heavy heart, we share the news of passing of Sultan Jessa. A great friend of Ismailimail, Sultan passed away on August 22, 2019 at the age of 77.

“I guess Heaven was needing a hero
Somebody just like you
Brave enough to stand up
For what you believe
And follow it through
When I try to make it make sense in my mind
The only conclusion I come to
Is Heaven was needing a hero
Like you.” Jo Dee Messina

Born in Tanzania, Sultan moved to Canada in early 1970’s. Sultan was a journalist for many, many years. Writing, sharing stories on different topics was his passion. For over a decade, Sultan shared many Sultan Jessawonderful stories via our platform. Sultan not only shared stories for our readers enjoyment, but he also mentored and provided valuable guidance to volunteers of Ismailimail team when needed. Ismailimail wouldn’t be where it is now if not for Sultan.

Sultan’s passion and dedication to his profession continued until his last days. He shared two articles with us earlier in August one of which we posted for our readers couple of weeks back (click here to read the post). Second one, we will be releasing soon. In his last email to us, he shared the news about his health with us. Our team has lost a great friend, a mentor, but his loss is a major loss for the Ismaili community worldwide.
