Politics in Canada was not like this in the past. But, in recent years, it has taken a new turn. I wonder if we are following our good neighbor the United States of America. The next federal election is still two years away. However, many Canadians feel the election is just round the corner when they watch the attack ads on the tube.
I have another word for these unnecessary attack ads. I call it bullying.
Why would the ruling Conservatives spend so much money and time on attacking Justin Trudeau, the newly elected leader of the national Liberal Party. The reason is obvious. Trudeau’s election as the leader and the recent polls showing the Liberals surging make the Tories pretty uncomfortable to say the least.
