Gulshan Jivraj Antivalle, President, Ismaili Community Italy, appointed by Italian Interior Minister to consultative body; attends dialogue with Pope Ratzinger

The ambassadors all sit to the left of Pope Ratzinger. To the right of Ratzinger, however, will be seated in alphabetical order – the members of the Islamic Italian invited by the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious dialogue.  Ejaz Ahmad,  Khalil Altoubat, Rachid Amadia (imam a Salerno), Khalid Chaouaki, Mohamed Nour Dachan (presidente dellUCOII), Zeiban Dolal, Gulshan Jivraj Antivalle (presidentessa della comunita ismailita in Italia),

The first time the pope has addressed the issue of dialogue with Islam and the state last year in Cologne.  On that occasion, noted the necessity to identify common values for cementing the mutual respect and mutual understanding.  The dialogue between faiths and cultures, he said, should not be a choice but a “reality and vital necessity from which so much depends on our future.”
