  1. I was surprised at the comments made by the journalist in the video that Ismailis do not have a homeland.Ismailism is a religion professed by diverse ethnic groups and the community is all over the world. It would have been more appropriate to address the Ugandan issue on an individual basis if that was what she was trying to do.

  2. I have not watched this movie yet so I can’t comment on the contents of this movie but I really liked what Shamir Allibhai (producer of the movie) had to say at his blog (I highly recommend we dialog at his blog to further extend the conversation). Shamir said:

Making documentaries is not about getting everyone to agree with everything you say in the documentary or leaving everyone feeling happy. That is the job of a corporate video. A film is about informing, sparking thought and encouraging discussion. It is based on the premise of dialogue – a fundamental ethic in my faith of Islam, and many other religions. Through dialogue and discussion, goes the belief, we can spotlight the important issues of our time, rise to the challenge, and hopefully move people into action rather than passivity. —Link

  4. Hi…this is a step towards reducing the ignorance that is out there towards Islam. We need more documentaries like this to educate people about the real side of Islam and how beautiful a religion it really is.
